Owyhee County ranked 37th in state for resident earnings in 2017


Owyhee County ranked 37th among counties in Idaho by annual earnings per resident, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau in August.

The median income of Owyhee County residents was an inflation-adjusted $21,608 per year. Owyhee County had 4,190 households in 2017, with a population of 11,384.

The county with the highest median resident income in the state was Teton County. Teton County's median income was $32,088 per year after adjusting for inflation – $10,480 more than Owyhee County. It had 3,764 households in 2017 and a population of 10,776.

Madison County had the lowest annual resident income among counties in Idaho, with a median income of only $11,288 per year. That was $10,320 less than the median income in Owyhee County at the time. Madison County had 10,633 households in 2017 and a population of 38,241.
